MESSAGE:
Addictions do not have benefits because what looks like enjoyment to the addict is actually destroying him/her. The consequences which will be reaped here on earth and eternity are very grave. For instance, a drug addict could become insane and then ruin his destiny; any food addict could become obese and then have ill health; any jewelry addict would steal jewelry or become wasteful and such a person will end up in hell if he/she does not repent. Now is the time to break that addiction.
Like you were rightly informed yesterday, there is a spirit behind every addiction. Therefore, to break from a spirit, you have to be stronger than that spirit. Jesus Christ said in Mark 3:27 that he that wants to enter into the house of a strong man must first be strong enough to bind the strong man. However, before you bind the strong man, you need to first acknowledge that you have an addiction and thereafter, determine to break it.
After determining to break away from it, you need to seek Gods face by fasting and praying. You also have to dissociate from friends, objects and environments that fuel the addiction. You also need to speak to a Christian counsellor regarding the addiction. You need Gods help to break an addiction. Ask Him for help today.
Action Point:
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you break away and stay free from all forms of addiction from today.
Hymn: Take My Life, And Let It Be
- Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise. - Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee. - Take my voice and let me sing
Always, only for my King;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee. - Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose. - Take my will and make it
Thine It shall be no longer mine;
Take my heart, it is Thine own
It shall be Thy royal throne. - Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.
