BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW GROUNDS
JEREMIAH 4:8, HOSEA 10:12, REVELATION 2:5 (TPT)
… Break up your fallow ground and so not among thorns. Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; breakup your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Think about how far you have fallen! Repent and do the works of love you did at first I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from it’s place of influence if you do not repent.
In farming fallow ground refers to a piece of farm land that was previously used for farming but for certain reasons is now left unused and abandoned for a period of time. When this happens, that piece of land usually becomes overgrown with grass and weeds. A once fruitful, productive and orderly piece of land becomes bushy and disorganised bearing no fruit.
As a believer, your fallow ground refers to an area of your life where you were once fervent, vibrant and fruitful but due to distractions or discouragement, has slowly been abandoned and is now lying fallow. That area of your life is no more yielding fruit or impact as it once was.
Today, God is calling you to remember those areas of your life where you have abandoned your first love and have become lukewarm and cold due to your pursuit of vanities of life. If you are ready to go back and break up those fallow grounds, God is ready to empower you and restore your impact and fruitfulness in those areas of your life. Repent or change every negative mindset that cause you to abandon your first love and return today by the help of the Spirit.
Prayer:
Dear Father, please help me by your Spirit to identify every fallow ground in my life and return to a place of fruitfulness.
