Read: Joshua 24:14-15

  1. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
  2. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

MEMORISE: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:25

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 46-48; Hebrews 4:1-16

MESSAGE:

We live in a world where fellows who call themselves children of God wilfully commit sin without feeling bad. But as for me and my family, we have made up our minds to serve God come what may. As seen in our Bible reading of today, Joshua told the children of Israel that they were free to serve anything they wanted, but as for him and his family, they had no option than to serve the living God.

Anyone that will make the decision to serve God come what may, must be ready to follow Gods instructions to the latter without asking questions. While studying the life of Elijah over the years, the Lord told me to note certain things in his life if I really wanted the anointing over his life. In 1 Kings 17:2-5 , God sent him to brook Cherith, he went without questioning God. In 1 Kings 17:8-10 , 1 Kings 18:12 , the Lord asked him to show himself to Ahab who desperately sought his life. And he went. Instant obedience! If you question Biblical principles or instructions from God, then you are not ready to serve God. God requires dedication, diligence and loyalty from His children. If others are compromising, you must not.

Action Point:
Decide to serve the Lord no matter what.

Hymn: What Can Wash Away My Stain?

  1. What can wash away my stain?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
    What can make me whole again?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Chorus
Oh! Precious is the flow,
That makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know;
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

  1. For my cleansing this I see?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
    For my pardon, this my plea?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
  2. Nothing can for sin atone,
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
    Naught of good that I have done;
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
  3. This is all my hope and peace,
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
    This is all my righteousness,
