CAST DOWN THOSE IMAGINATIONS

2Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

One of our greatest challenges as believers is that before we got saved, our minds had already been filled and programmed with thoughts that are contrary to God’s thoughts and will for our lives. As such, when we hear God’s word or when we are faced with challenges in life, there is a battle in our minds between these thoughts and mindsets that we had before and what God’s word is saying about us. Whose report will you believe? Thoughts are as important as prayers, (Eph.3:20). A stronghold is a set of thoughts deeply rooted in our consciousness that affect our mindset, beliefs, behaviour and attitudes.

If we are going to have victory and be all God wants us to be, we must be ready to uproot and cast down these deeply rooted negative thoughts systems and imaginations and make our minds accept and align with what God says about us. The basic way we do this is with our mouths. When you give voice to a thought, you are taking it or accepting it as your reality. Only give voice to God’s word. Cast down that imagination by boldly declaring what God says about you. Do not give up. Keep declaring God’s word until it becomes a stronghold in your mind. It might be for your health, prosperity, overcoming sin or even walking in love. This is a major way that we fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of eternal life, (1Tim.6:12).

Boldly declare God’s word concerning that area of your life where you have been having doubts and challenges.
