Cause And Cure

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.”

Romans 10:9

When you want really deep theology, there is no better place to turn than to a Peanuts cartoon! We learn a lot from Charlie Brown and his friends. One day, Lucy looked at Charlie Brown and saw he was depressed. She said, “Charlie Brown, the problem with you is that you are you.” Charlie replied, “Oh, and what can I do about that?” She responded, “I’m not here to give any prescriptions. I’m just here to point out the problems.” God’s Word is not like that! It spells out our problem clearly: There is none righteous, not even one.” The problem with you, it says, is you! But we learn the remedy as well, and it is contained in today’s verse.

God’s Word clearly diagnoses our sin problem, and Jesus Christ wrote the prescription for it with His death on the cross.
