CELEBRATING THE BENEFITS OF CHRIST’S LORDSHIP

ROMANS 14:9 (GNB), PSALMS 103:1-2 (KJV, CEV)

For Christ died and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living and of the dead. *Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: *With all my heart I praise the LORD, and with all that I am I praise his holy name! With all my heart I praise the LORD! I will never forget how kind he has been.

Every time we ‘praise the Lord,’ the foundational reason for our praise should be for everything Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. This is how Jesus came to be Lord of all, and how He secured our salvation as well as all of God’s goodness and blessings for our lives. God’s greatest work of all time is Christ’s work of redemption on the Cross. Though it was fully manifested long after creation, God saw it as accomplished long before creation. (Rev.13:8) Jesus is the lamb who was slain from the beginning of time.

What God achieved through Christ’s work of redemption is more glorious and superior to creation. Apostle Paul describes the results of Christ’s redemptive work as the unsearchable riches of Christ, (Eph.3:8). Some versions say infinite, beyond measurable, inexhaustible riches of Christ. When Paul said eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and minds have not imagined the things God has in store for us, he was referring to the things God has made available and possible for us because of the Cross of Christ, (1Cor.2:8-9). If the devil had known these things, he would not have persuaded men to crucify Christ, but it is too late now. God wants to open our eyes to these things through the Spirit (John 16:13-15), and He wants us to be aware of them at all times. Because of them, we must continue to rejoice and celebrate Christ.

PRAYER:
Father, I rejoice and thank you for all the Cross has made available for me. Open my eyes to see and understand them more.
