Christ is Transforming and Building You Up
Matthew 16:17-18(NKJV), 1 Peter 2:5(NIV), Matthew 4:19(TPT)
Jesus answered….”Blessed are you, Simon…for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father…in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.you also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.Jesus called out to them and said, “Come and follow me, and I will transform you into men who catch people for God.”
Beloved be rest assured that as a believer, there is a glorious transformation consistently taking place in your life. God is strengthening you and building you up in every area of your life. As a result of this ongoing transformation, the gates of hell cannot prevail against you.
Because we are the body of Christ, God is causing the fullness of Christ to fill us and to manifest in us even more. Christ is the head and we are His body and so and so the very same life that is in Christ is in us.
God builds and transforms your life through the revelation of Christ. That revelation is the rock to which Jesus refers in our first text above.(God the Father had just revealed who Jesus is to Peter, following which Jesus spoke about building His church.) The entire Bible points to Jesus (John 5:39) and God wants us to focus on Jesus and listen to Him(Matthew 17:5). God wants to reveal Jesus to us more and more because that is the only way our lives can be genuinely transformed and built up. As you study the scriptures, ask yourself, “how does this point to Christ and what Christ has done for us?” Rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As we focus on Christ , we are being transformed from glory to glory into the image of Christ by the Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Apostle Paul confirmed that it is the word of God’s grace that builds us up and give us our inheritance as God’s children ( Acts 20:32 ). The word of God’s grace is the revelation of Christ and the wonderful things He has done for us.
As God continues to transform and build your life, you will become more influential. You will be a fisher of men and women. Your life will attract more people to God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the glorious building and transformation that is consistently taking place in my life as I keep my eyes on Jesus.
