And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts me from you.— Ruth 1:16-17 (AMPC)
A confident person doesn’t fear being unloved, because they know and believe that they are loved unconditionally by God. Every single one of us needs and wants acceptance, both from God and others.
To be whole and complete, the first thing you have to know is this: you are deeply loved by God. Although not everyone will accept and love you, some will. I encourage you to concentrate on those who do love you and forget about those who don’t. God loves you more than you can imagine, and He can provide the right people in your life to love you as well.
I believe we need to have what I call “divine connections.” In other words, pray about your social circle. Don’t just decide what group you want to be part of and then try to get into it—follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in choosing your close friends. As you trust Him to direct your steps and connect you with others, He will open doors for godly relationships.
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for bringing the right friends into my life! Give me wisdom and discernment to know who to welcome into my inner circle, and help me build strong, healthy relationships with them. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
