MEMORISE: Wash and make yourselves clean. – Isaiah 1:16a

READ: 2 Corinthians 7:1

1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Bible In One Year: Genesis 27-28; Matthew 9:18-38

MESSAGE:

I understand that as a teenager, you may be going through puberty and there are physical changes your body goes through. One of it is the growth of hair under your arms and private parts. I am particular about these areas because if you don’t take good care of them, you will smell. If you do, you would not only drive people away from you, you would also grieve the Holy Spirit. Child, God is pure and holy. The Bible says our body is the temple of the living God. Do you think a holy God can live in a dirty temple? No. I still brush my teeth before talking to God in the morning because I can’t talk to my Holy God with a smelling mouth.

How can you be clean? You can do this by taking your bath at least twice daily. You should wash your underwear daily too; never use an underwear twice. When brushing your teeth, concentrate more on the tongue because that is the organ that smells more. As a lady, wash your hair as often as you can but change your hairstyle weekly; this will encourage you to wash it often. When you sweat on a clothe, wash it before wearing it again.

Key Point:

Be pure within and without even as your Heavenly Father is.

Hymn 9: I Am Thine O Lord

  1. I am Thine O Lord
    I have heard Thy voice
And it told Thy love to me
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

  1. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord
By the pow’r of grace divine
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope
And my will be lost in Thine.
  2. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend.
  3. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
