Memorise: He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13
Read: Joel 2:12-13
12 ”Even now,” declares the Lord , “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
Bible In One Year: Genesis 27-28; Matthew 9:18-38
MESSAGE:
Today’s message is for those who were once burning for God but drew back. If you once gave your life to Christ but now, it seems you borrowed it from Him, then, you should give it back completely today. You might have gone far from in, so that you think God cannot take you back. Consider the prodigal son. He went into a far country, he searched for a job and found none: he was so hungry that he even desired foods meant for pigs but he was not given.
“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,” – Luke 15:18
If you read that story further, you will discover that the father was waiting for him. He also welcomed him with open arms and organised a party for his return. This is the true picture of our Heavenly Father. Beloved, our God is gracious and full of mercy. He does not want anyone to perish. In fact, it is His desire that everyone gets saved and reigns with Him in eternity. How far away have you gone? Come back to the Father today.
Action Point:
Repent and decide to stay with Christ forever from today.
Hymn 9: I Am Thine O Lord
- I am Thine O Lord
I have heard Thy voice
And it told Thy love to me
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
- Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord
By the pow’r of grace divine
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope
And my will be lost in Thine. - Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend. - There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
