“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 KJV
The book of Hebrew 4:14 refers to Jesus as our High Priest. And the book of Hebrews 4:15 says: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin”. Notice the expression “for we have not”. We do not have a High priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of out infirmities. Our High Priest can be touched. Our High Priest knows the way you feel! He knows the pain you go through! He knows your agony, your difficulties, the delays in your situation and the pressure you are encountering. He was tempted in all points- physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally and in every area. There is no area Jesus did not cover as far as humanity is concerned.
So, the scripture says, come boldly, not fearfully, not cringing or afraid that probably He is going to drop a hammer on your head because you have done something wrong. Even when you have messed up, He says ‘Come boldly unto the throne of grace.’ It is the throne of Grace! It is not the throne of judgment neither is it the throne of condemnation
He is sitting on the throne of Mercy. Mercy is God not giving you the judgment you deserve. Everyone born on the face of this earth deserves judgment from God. All you need to do to be a sinner is to be born. You didn’t become a sinner because you did something wrong. Everyone born on the face of this earth was born a sinner. It is not what you did that made you a sinner. Rather, it is because you are a sinner that you do what you do. Come to the throne of grace to obtain mercy. We were born sinners. Everyone on the face of this earth needs God’s mercy. You don’t need God’s judgment. You need His mercy. Receive His mercy today and walk in the newness of life.
