COME TO THE WATERS (1)

ISAIAH 55:1-2 (NKJV) “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; and you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.*

The word of God is one of the most important things water represents in the Bible. In our text above, when Isaiah wrote about coming to the waters, God was speaking through Him, inviting us to come and receive and experience the power and blessings of His word.

Many believers are willing to spend their time, efforts, and other resources on many other things in search of things that God wants to give them freely through His word. Many Christians are unaware of the kinds of refreshing, peace, wisdom, strength, provision, divine intervention, and transformation that they can experience by receiving God’s word.

The Bible says in the verse immediately following our text above, “Incline your ear, and come to Me.” Hear, and your soul will live…” In Isaiah 55:10-11, God compares His word to rain that falls from the heavens to water the earth and cause all kinds of growth, fruitfulness, and abundance. As you read God’s word right now, the rain of heaven is pouring down on your life and all your concerns and endeavours, causing you to experience God’s glory, power, and increase. This rain is what causes you to experience the above-only life (Deut.28:12-13). Continue to feed yourself with God’s word.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the cleansing, refreshing and empowering effect that your word is having in my life right now
