Commissioned and Empowered to Advance God’s Kingdom

Matthew 6:9-10, John 20:21 (CEV), 2 Corinthians 5:20

…Our Father in heaven, help us to honour your name. Come and set up your kingdom so that everyone on earth will obey you as you are obeyed in heaven. *After Jesus had greeted them again, He said, “I am sending you, just as the Father has sent me.” *Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

God does not only want us to be established in His kingdom, He also wants to use us to spread and advance His kingdom on the earth. He wants to use us to bring others into His kingdom, get them established in His kingdom and use them also to spread and advance His kingdom on the earth.

This is why after Jesus died and rose from the dead, He said to His disciples, “…All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt.28:18-20). This is why we say, “Evangelism is our supreme task.” Evangelism is God’s heartbeat. He does not want anyone to perish. He wants all men saved by receiving His love and putting their faith in the sacrifice of Jesus.

We must be passionate about seeing people getting saved and becoming all God wants them to be. We must pray for the spread of the Gospel and salvation of many. We must passionately go out to preach the Gospel and manifest the life and power of Christ. We must continually do all these with the zeal and passion of Christ.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please use me to spread and advance your kingdom. Use me to preach the Gospel and manifest Christ to others.
