TEXT: “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso cofesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Prov. 28:13.

Rhema For Living 14th July 2022 MESSAGE

As believers, we are not to live in iniquity for we have been empowered to live above sin as scripture declares in Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” We are therefore not to allow sin reign in our mortal body that we should obey it’s lust, neither should we yield our members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but rather yield ourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and our members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Rom. 6:12-13.

However, when we fall into temptation or commit sin, we are not to cover it pretending to be saints even before God, the one to forgive us and before those He has put over us as spiritual guides to order our steps before Him. His words says whoever covers his sin shall not prosper.

What we are to do as His word admonishes us is to confess and forsake our sins and we shall have mercy. What hinders mercy is not repenting from the heart when one goes wrong, hence going back to commit the same thing again. Even among individuals, whoever did wrong and confesses his wrong to you, only to do the same thing over and over again, will not receive attention from you.

The same thing applies to our relationship with our maker. Whatever hurts Him, should not be engaged in by us, and peradventure we did any to Him, we are to genuinely confess and forsake such evil ways and live as children of God. When we do, we will continually enjoy His unending mercies over our lives.

PRAYER: MY Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I make up my mind to confess and forsake every wrong deed in my life.
