CONSTANT REJOICING, PRAYER AND PRAISE

1Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMPC), Daniel 6:10

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. *Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

We saw yesterday that one reason our praise should be constant is because God’s love for us is constant, unconditional and beyond what we can intellectually fathom. Another reason is because, God’s word concerning our lives is sure. His promises and plans for us are good and they are unchangeable and unstoppable. His thoughts towards us are always thoughts of good and not of evil to give us an expected end, (Jer.29:11). In Isaiah 55:8-11, God says His thoughts and ways are higher than our thoughts and ways and His word cannot return to Him void. It must accomplish the purpose for which He sent it.

Praying and giving God thanks was a constant in the life of Daniel. Despite the evil decree that had been signed, Daniel prayed and gave thanks 3 times a day as he usually did. Despite the fact he was thrown into the lion’s den for this, God sent an angel to shut the mouth of the lions and to keep them from hurting Daniel. Acts 16:25, shows us that though Paul and Silas had been maltreated, chained and wrongly imprisoned, at midnight, they prayed and sang praises to God. Just like Daniel did, this must have been their normal routine and they did not allow the negative things that had happened to them stop them from praying and singing to God as usual. Rejoicing, prayer and praise was a constant in their lives.

Faith Declaration:
There is no circumstance I face that can stop me from rejoicing, praying and giving God thanks always. Halleluyah!
