COVENANT WILL SPEAK FOR YOU
“Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.” 2 Samuel 9:5 (KJV)
Do you know that God wants you to always come into His presence, without fear, inferiority or condemnation, to receive from Him? He is not selective or partial. I don’t care how sanctified, holy and righteous you may think you are, none of us receives anything from God based on being qualified. There is none! And that is one of the things that hinders a believer.
We want to be qualified. Some come with this attitude of “Lord, you know I fasted before I came”, “Lord, you know I’ve been a virgin since I was born, so I must be married whether you like it or not”. It is okay. All these things are wonderful. But if you think that it is because of what you are doing that God will give to you, you’ve missed the point.
While Mephibosheth’s nurse was running from David, she dropped him, and Mephibosheth broke his leg. He was dumped in Lo-debar, a barren land with no vision or aspiration. At Lo-debar, Mephibosheth wrote himself off. Why? Because he never knew that there was a prophetic hand over his life. He never knew that he was entitled to the best of things.
Left in that place, no one wanted to go there or touch him with a ten-foot pole. But the covenant-keeping God does not forget covenant. Even though he did not know about the covenant. There was a covenant hanging over his head. What I love about God is that, even when you don’t know who you are, His mercy will reach out to you.
Child of God there is a covenant hanging over your life. And by the reason of this covenant, you can never be denied. Mercy will reach out to you! You can come boldly into the presence of God and make a demand and expect an answer. God will honour your faith today. Covenant will bring you out of every Lodebar.
