Memorise: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

BIBLE READING: Proverbs 1:22-23

  1. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
  2. Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Bible Reading In One Year: Ezra 1-2; John 19:23-42

MESSAGE:

For some years now, there has been a great level of right awareness all over the world. Homosexuals and lesbians feel they should be free to marry among the same gender. Pro-abortionists believe they should be free to abort any unwanted pregnancy with the backing of the state. This freedom to do as you like has also crept into the church.

Many Christians now question everything. Some are against tithe because they feel its outdated. Some want to dress as they please to Church stating that God looks at the heart. They choose the doctrines that are convenient and discard the ones that seem tough. This freedom that people are searching for is the type that can lead to destruction.

Any freedom that contradicts Gods word will lead to destruction. The Bible says in Proverbs 14:12:
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

It is only the truth which is Jesus (John 14:6 ), that can truly make one free. The freedom gotten in Jesus is not to live as you like but to live as God wants you to live. This freedom will also liberate you from the lies of the devil and bondage of sin.

Key Point:

The freedom that Jesus offers, leads to abundant life in eternity.

Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way,
While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away,
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay,
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows,
    And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
