READ: Zechariah 3:1-10

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him” – Zechariah 3:1, NASB

Accusations can stop you but they can also control you. They become a basis for decisions you take. Eventually, you will find yourself on a course completely different from what God intended for you.

Years ago the Lord led me to begin a fellowship of ministers in my city. I heard people say, “Who does he think he is? He is a small boy! When did he come on the scene? Does he think he is going to rule over us?” I felt very bad and ended up forming a democratic group to please people. Later on, I found myself unable to fulfil the commission God had given me. I found out how the impressions and accusations of people had redirected me. I had been controlled by these insinuations and accusations until my ministry was stifled.

Some people are called to be pastors but do not want to be associated with the profession. They have heard numerous accusations against ministers and would not like to be one of them. This keeps many well-meaning people out of the ministry.

THEN [the guiding angel] showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at Joshua’s right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him.

And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! Even the Lord, Who [now and habitually] chooses Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this [returned captive Joshua] a brand plucked out of the fire [Jude.] Zechariah 3:1-2, AMP

Through effective accusations, Satan keeps the number of ministers as low as he can.
