And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands—yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it.— Psalm 90:17 (AMPC)

There’s a distinction between natural favor and supernatural favor: natural favor can be earned, but God’s supernatural favor can’t.

If you work hard enough and long enough, you can get people to like and accept you most of the time. But that acceptance has to be maintained the same way it was gained. Having to say and do all the right things all the time in order to stay in favor with people is a form of bondage.

If we’ll choose to follow God instead of people, He will grant us His favor. It is a gift of His grace and cannot be earned. God doesn’t want us to waste our time and energy trying to earn favor; He wants us to trust Him for it. When God gives us His favor, amazing things begin to happen. Doors of opportunity will open for you. You will end up with benefits and blessings that you haven’t earned or deserved.

We can pray daily for God’s supernatural favor. It’s a gift from God that only comes by grace through our faith. Go ahead: ask and keep on asking, and you will receive!

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You so much for Your endless grace and undeserved favor. Please give me the grace I need to continue to follow You instead of people. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
