Diligence and Increase

Proverbs 22:29 (KJV, TPT), Proverbs 12:24 (NIV), Luke 19:16-17 (NKJV)
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. *If you are uniquely gifted in your work, you will rise and be promoted. You won’t be held back— you’ll stand before kings! *Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor. *Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

One way to prepare yourself for the great increase that God is bringing into your life is to increase your commitment to being diligent. Many believers are praying and trusting God for increase in various areas of their lives, but they are not willing to be diligent in those areas of their lives. Diligence is an attribute of faithfulness and faithfulness is a dimension of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22). It is the nature of God in us that makes us demonstrate absolute loyalty and unwavering commitment both to God and to people we serve or are connected to. It makes us put our whole being into whatever we are doing and give our best whether people are seeing us or not. Diligence is all about being thorough, careful, meticulous and persistent. It makes you give your best focus and commitment to what you do.

God Himself greatly loves, expects and rewards all manner of diligence in our lives, beginning from the way we seek Him, (Heb.11:6). Guard Your heart with all diligence (Prov.4:23) and be diligent in all your hands find to do. As a leader, carry out your responsibilities with diligence (Rom.12:8). Know and cater to the state of your flocks diligently, Prov.27:23. People who are diligent are watchful and watchfulness prevents being taken unawares negatively, (Matt.24:43). People who are diligent do not fear accountability. Times of accountability are actually times of honour and promotion for them. Our last text above, shows us how diligence in little things can attract unbelievable increase in influence. Who would have thought that by simply being faithful with little money, that servant would have been promoted and given ten cities to preside over? Child of God, remain diligent. Great increase is coming into your life.

Prayer:
I thank you Heavenly Father, for the ability you have given me to be diligent in all I do. Help me to grow in my commitment to being diligent.
