Memorise: Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. Psalms 41:9
Read: 1 John 4:1
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Bible In One Year: Proverbs 15-16, 2 Corinthians 1
MESSAGE:
Let the spirit of discernment guide you when relating with people. It is not everyone that asks you for directions o the road that you should respond to. It is even not every beggar that asks form alms that you should give. Don’t just accept a ride from whoever offers it, some people have been kidnapped and some used for rituals because they took a free ride. Don’t just enter any public vehicle that is available or sit beside anyone in the bus. Always let the Holy Spirit guide you.
Some teenagers can beg anyone for food when they see them eating. Through this, many have been initiated into cults. Not everyone that you see wearing fine clothes and looking normal are ordinary human beings, many are agents of darkness out to get teenagers. It is only with the spirit of discernment that you can know the wolves in sheep clothing.
Pray in tongues everyday, read your Bible everyday, avoid sin, be spiritually alert and no evil will befall you.
KEY POINT:
Not every ‘friend’ is a friend
Hymn 14:
1 O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and
Human woes abound.
Let every Christian tongue
Proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
Chorus:
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n,
The Father’s Promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!
2 The long, long night is past;
The morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail
And fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills
The day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!
3 Lo, the great Kings of Kings,
With healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full
Deliv’rance brings;
And thro’ the vacant cells
The song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!
4 O boundless love divine!
How shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell
The matchless grace divine-
That I, a child of hell,
Should in His image shine?
The Comforter has come!
