DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE (1)
Dear Reader,
Peace and blessing, in Jesus name! It is a privilege to bring you God’s Word concerning every aspect of your life. Myles Munroe once said, ‘When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable’. As a teenager, when you know the purpose for which God created you, it will be easier to navigate through life. God has planned a glorious future for you, and you have to partner with Him to experience it. Therefore, as you journey through this article, God will open your eyes to what He has called you on earth for, in Jesus name!
What is Purpose?
Purpose simply means what you have been created to do on earth, that specific thing God has assigned for you to do here, and that is the reason for your existence. Please know that you are not a biological accident, the circumstance surrounding your birth notwithstanding. Even if you were born out of wedlock, you did not just happen or appear on this earth by mistake.
You are Born for A Reason
You are a deliberate creation of God, and He created you as a high-tech product packaged to perform certain defined functions. So, there is a specific and definite reason for your existence. However, you can only be different and stand out positively when you are at the centre of God’s assignment for you on the earth.
You are Created for A Reason, Locate it!
For you to know your purpose, you have to discover and locate it. What does it mean to locate your purpose? This means you have to dig out, find and inquire of the reason God created you. God has created you for a purpose, but you have to discover it and pursue it with all zeal and zest.
Examples of People who Discovered their Purpose in the Bible
Jesus: He discovered His purpose as a teenager. At the age of twelve, He was at the synagogue teaching the elders. He spent time studying the Scripture that He could find out the reason God brought Him to the world.
Joseph: He discovered his purpose as a youth and began to work towards the accomplishment. At the age of seventeen, he was sure what God has called him to be on earth. Even when he passed through the issues of life, he never lost the mind of what God had called him to be.
David: He knew why he was created, and that was why he chose to develop the skills required for him to actualise his purpose.
However, it is important to note that you cannot discover your purpose without having a relationship with Jesus. Your purpose is hidden inside of you, and it will be easier to discover that purpose in Christ. If you are yet to receive Jesus, you can say this prayer of faith with me: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God, and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
