DO NOT GIVE UP

Matthew 13:20-21, Hebrews 6:12 (TPT) But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. *So don’t allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm, but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith and patient endurance.

It can be very empowering to know that most of the persecution that we face is because of the word that God has declared concerning our lives. Many times, hell has a tendency to break loose the moment a great move of God is about to take place. The aim of such persecution is to steal your joy and to distract you from your faith and hope in God’s Word. It is to get you offended and to end the process of faith that is taking place in your life. You need God’s grace, wisdom and perspective to identify persecutions that may be arising as a result of God’s great plans for you. Decide to not let them distract you. Decide to remain diligent and fervent in your faith.

“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise,” (Heb.10:36). No matter what happens by the way, God does not want you to be discouraged and He does not want you to give up. During your time of waiting for God’s word and promises to be fulfilled in your life, fierce winds and trials may attempt to knock you down. Sometimes, you will literally feel like Jesus felt on the cross when He was carrying our sin, sickness and burdens. Drifting in such times is a sign of a lack of strong roots, (Prov.24:10). Don’t drift in your faith, love and commitment to God. I pray for you that like Colossians 1:11 says, you will be strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness. Sometimes, the persecution or trial will not make any sense at all. You won’t and may never know why it is happening nor how to pray about it. In that moment, the Holy Spirit will help you (Rom.8:26-28). It is just a distraction to get you offended and make you take your eyes of God’s promises, leading and plan for your life. Do not give up.

Prayer:
My eyes are on you Dear Lord. Help me to be strong and patient through my trials and persecutions. Help me to hold on and keep moving on.
