DO NOT WAVER

Hebrews 10:23 (KJV, GNB, TPT, AMPC)

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. So now we must cling tightly to the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises! So let us seize and holdfast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish & confess & our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.

God wants us to be strong, focused, sure and firm in our faith and in all areas of our lives. God does not want us to be weak, afraid, unsure and easily manipulated. God wants us to be sure and firm because of all He has done for us. He has given us a living hope. Our hope is based on the love of God, the promises of God and the resurrection power of God. Because of all these things, nothing is impossible for us and all things are possible if we believe. As such, God does not want us to waver, especially in our faith. For example, whenever we ask God for anything, He wants us to ask in faith and not waver. He wants us to be sure He will answer us. When we waver, we are like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. In this state, we cannot receive anything from God because we are double minded and unstable, (James 1:5-8). It means we do not trust in God’s love, promises and His mighty ability. When we ask God for something, He does not look for a reason to deny us of it. He gives to us abundantly more than earthly parents give their children, (Matt.7:7-11).

God’s promises to you are not based on your faithfulness but on His faithfulness. Many people waver because instead of fixing their faith in God, their faith is in themselves and when they look at themselves, they feel they do not deserve God’s best. They feel this way because they are depending on their works to be accepted by God and not on the things Christ has done for them. They have not received the gift of righteousness and perfection that God has offered them in Christ. Abraham did not stagger at the promises of God because his eyes were not on himself or Sarah but fully on God and all God had said about Christ, (Rom.4:19-22).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for love, promises and mighty power available to me. I receive your grace to keep my eyes on you and not waver.
