DO SOMETHING

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)

Today, I am continuing with the emphasis on doing something. Again, the operative word in the topic for today is “Do”.

Do is an active word. You engage the word of God by being actively involved in doing something tangible. God will only prosper and accelerate what you are doing. My body itches when lazy people come around me; people who sit around, carrying cups in their hands, looking for who will give them peanuts. How can you be collecting pennies when God has invested so much in you? You should be doing great things because you are called for great things. There is an anointing upon your life to do great things.

In the book of Luke chapter 5, we read the story of Peter’s encounter with Jesus. When Jesus met them, they were washing their nets. That suggests that they were Fishermen, and they were doing something. He asked Peter to thrust the boat inside the sea for Him to preach and when He was done preaching, He told them to launch into the deep. “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word, I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5 KJV) They were not lazy. They had laboured, working round the clock.

Beloved, God will engage with you in the area of your strength. Peter didn’t say Jesus let down the net; he said I will let down the net. What some of us do in a way is, Jesus, do it. That is a wrong approach. You must do something. In fact, do big things! Verse 6 of the same chapter says: “And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.”

That is acceleration and total recovery. This happened because they were doing something, God got involved, and then there was a turnaround that affected other people around them.
