Astronomers have told us that the most recognizable feature in the Southern Hemisphere skies, the Southern Cross, is disappearing. No, not in the physical sense, but because of the increase in artificial light coming from places like Sydney, Australia, the Southern Cross appears fainter and less distinctive in the night sky.
How similar to the lives of many who claim to be Christians where the world’s influence on purely ethical and moral standards is so great that biblical Truth seems to dim. Where once these Christians were light in the darkness, now their light has faded into obscurity, no longer seen in a world filled with darkness.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. If you call yourself a Christian, let me ask you a question. Is the light of Christ shining through your life or is it really non-existent and invisible to others? Was it bright at one time, but has begun to dim with each passing day?
Friends, don’t allow your light to vanish without having a positive influence for Christ. We are supposed to be light in a dark world and in today’s world – that light is needed now more than ever! So, how are you letting the light of Christ shine through your life? How are you pointing others to Christ in how you live day in and day out? People are watching; Who do they see when they look at you?
