Memorise: For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37

Bible Reading: Isaiah 55:8-9

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 128-131, 1 Corinthians 7:25-40

MESSAGE:

God does as He pleases and His ways are not our ways at all. Unlike the ways of man that change based on the circumstance, His standards will never change. Until some believers understand this fact, things will never change for them. When in a difficult situation, the best thing is to look into God for a solution rather than seek and take counsel from humans, especially those who are not Christians. For instance, a child who wants to study medicine in University and has written the W.A.S.S.C.E (final examination in secondary school) several times and keeps failing chemistry. Wisdom of the world would be to register the child in a special center where expo (external help while writing an exam) would be served to him so that he can pass. Whereas, extra coaching from a good tutor on the subject and prayers could solve the problem.

God’s standards do not have shortcut. God will never be involved in a solution that is against His standard. This however, does not imply that His ways are longer and cumbersome. He does things for a good reason and His time is the best. Learn to truth Him.

Key Point:

His ways are not our ways neither His thoughts ours

Hymn:

  1. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
    Ye soldiers of the Cross!
    Lift high His royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss.
    From victory unto victory
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
    The solemn watchword hear;
    If while ye sleep he suffers,
    Away with shame and fear.
    Where’re yeah meet with evil,
    Within you or without,
    Charge for the God of battles,
    And put the foe to rout.
  3. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone;
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own.
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    Where duty calls, or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song.
    To him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.
