Memorise: If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Hebrews 6:6

READ: Hebrews 6:4-6

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 15-16; Luke 20:27-47

MESSAGE:

A perfect example of someone who betrayed God is Judas Iscariot. Luke 12:48 says:

“But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”

When God invest so much in you and you turn around to become worldly, you have betrayed Him like Judas did.

Jesus taught Judas just like He taught all the other disciples. In fact, He said in Matt. 13:10-11 that He speaks to other people in parable, but for Judas and the other disciples, He gave the the privilege to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Judas experienced all the miracles that Jesus performed and even performed miracles too when Jesus sent them out in twos to preach. After all these, he still went the way of the world; he betrayed Jesus. If God placed you in a Christian home so you’ll be raised in the atmosphere of His love and taught good values, please don’t betray Him. Stop hurting Him like Judas did. Retrace your steps from worldliness today and be who He has destined you to be.

Key Point:

Knowing God and still living in sin is betraying Jesus.

Hymn 12:

1.What can wash away my stain?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Chorus:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know, .
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2.For my cleansing this I see –
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my pardon this my plea –
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

3.Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

4.This is all my hope and peace.
Nothing but the blood of Jesus:
His is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
