Memorise: We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

READ: Hebrews 12:6-8

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 13-14; Luke 20:1-26

MESSAGE:

There is always the tendency to misbehave when you see someone that loves you. I am not talking about boyfriend and girlfriend love. I am talking about real love, like from parent to child. Knowing that your parents love you does not give you the liberty to act as you please. In fact, it gives you a responsibility to always make them happy and not disappoint them. If one of your teachers starts showing a genuine interest in you, don’t take him/her for granted and don’t see it as a license to misbehave in his/her class. It actually means you have to behave yourself well and be a good example to other students. This will make the teacher to be more pleased with you.

Consider this: the fact that Jesus loves us and died for us does not give us the liberty to sin as we please, rather, it gives us a responsibility to please Him. In fact, the more God loves you, the higher your responsibility to please Him.

Key Point:

There is a responsibility on you to behave appropriately when some loves you.

Hymn 9:

1.What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2.Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a Friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer!

3.Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield You;
You wilt find a solace there.
