DON’T KEEP AWAY FROM SPIRITUAL THINGS

‘’And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.’’ Luke 10:30 NKJV

This narrative is about a man who was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. No wonder he was attacked by robbers. Every time you are walking away from the presence of God, get ready to be attacked by demonic robbers. Some believers take the things of the spirit for granted. You have to be begged to pray, to keep to your devotional hour or to come for fasting and prayers. You don’t understand that when you keep away from those things, you are inviting demonic robbers to rob your goods and then leave you for dead. You don’t understand it!

If one person is in darkness and another is in the light, who can locate the other easily? The one in darkness will easily locate the one who is in the light because light will show anywhere you are. So, do you think that the devil does not know where you are?! The thief of this world is putting stumbling blocks and obstacles on your way and you are refusing to pray. Don’t you know that prayer is what keeps him at bay? “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 KJV). 1 Peter 5:8, says: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (KJV).

Every spiritual instruction is to ensure that you are protected. A fly cannot perch on a hot pot. If you are fervent, you will rise above every attack of the wicked. If you are not fervent in the spirit, you make yourself easily accessible to the enemy. But when he notices that there is fire around you, he cannot come near you. That is why it is important that you embrace spiritual activities that are meant to keep you on fire.
