DON’T LEAVE JERUSALEM

“And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.” Luke‬ 10 : 30 (KJV)

Be careful of anything that will hinder the work of God or injure God’s Kingdom. If you get involved in anything contrary to the works and words of God, you are already walking in error against the Kingdom that Jesus paid the supreme price for.

This story of the Good Samaritan in Luke chapter 10 talks about a certain man who left Jerusalem which is equivalent to leaving God’s presence. When you leave the presence of God, the negative experience you will encounter is automatic.

Leaving God’s presence does not have to do with physical movement. You can be in the church, and yet you have left the presence of God already; especially when you are not interested in anything going on in the church. So, it is not about the building. It is about attitude. What is your attitude like? Are you living in bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness? Are you carrying a grudge? Are there people you don’t want to see?

Child of God, the hallmark of Christianity is mercy and grace. We are all products of God’s mercy. His mercy kept us from being consumed. So, who are you to judge another man’s servant?

The man fell among thieves who stripped and wounded him. The thieves represent the devil. The devil will do his job. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: …” (John‬

‬‬Some Christians have been wounded by the adversary because they departed from Jerusalem. When you leave Jerusalem, you will be going down. You can’t go up when you leave God, no matter how much you struggle. No matter how much you toil, you will be going down and down until you adjust. I encourage you today, don’t walk away from Jerusalem! Your lifting is in here!
