Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.— Psalm 90:12 (NIV)

Don’t Waste Your Time

Each day God gives us is precious, and once it is gone, we can never get it back. A day wasted is a day lost, so I encourage you to make your time count. For example, don’t waste a day in anger, unforgiveness, or self-pity. None of these negative emotions helps us in any way, and they are a complete waste of time.

We all have 24 hours in a day, yet some people seem to accomplish so much in that period of time, while others do nothing. I urge you to think about what you are doing with the time God has given you and make it useful, not useless. Today you have an entire day to make other people happy, to be thankful for all God’s blessings, or to finish a project you have intended to finish for months.

According to Psalm 118:24, This is the day the Lord has made (NKJV), so do something worthwhile with it. Today’s scripture says, Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Wise people do now what they will be happy with later. I encourage you to do something with the time you have today that you will be satisfied with tomorrow.

Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You for the reminder not to waste my time. Time is a blessing You have given me, and it is a valuable one. Help me use mine wisely and do all that You want me to do while I am here on the earth.
