EQUIP YOURSELF FOR GOOD WORKS (1)

2Timothy 3:15-17 (NLT)

You have been taught the…Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you…wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting…Christ… All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and…make us realize what is wrong…It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

God has recreated us in Christ to do good works. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago,” Eph.2:10 (NLT). Jesus gave Himself for us so we might be redeemed from sin, purified and become His people who are zealous for good works, (Tit.2:14).

There is however something vital that we need to keep us zealous for good works and to equip/empower us to actually manifest those good works. We need to study and meditate on the scriptures abundantly. We cannot succeed in our walk with God without studying and meditating on the scriptures. God told Joshua to meditate on it day and night in order to have good success in his assignment, (Josh.1:8). As we delight in God’s Word and meditate on it often, we become like trees planted by the river and all we do prospers, (Psa.1:2-3).

The Word of God is our manual. By it we discover ourselves and we are empowered to function as we ought to function. Everything about our lives are written in God’s Word. David said, “You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!” (Psa.139:16, LB). God’s Word penetrates and causes effect in all areas of our lives, (Heb.4:12).

Faith Declaration:
My manual is God’s Word. I am being equipped for good works as I study and meditate on the scriptures
