And, behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. Luke 19:2, 3 KJV

Every one of us has a need. It is alright to have a need. But much more than our material needs, it is always very important to assess where we are in our walk with God. We can only live here on earth for 120 years if Christ tarries; then what happens to the rest of the years in eternity; where time shall be no more. Have you considered what will happen to you when you stand before your maker?

Christianity is not a religion. It is a way of life. When all is said and done, if you close your eyes and fail to open it, where will you spend the rest of eternity? Have you ever taken time to ask this question?
The bible tells us about the man called Zacchaeus. He was a sinner; a publican, a tax collector; taking bribe and committing all kinds of atrocities. He came to a point in his life that he said, let’s be real? The greatest disservice you can do to yourself is to lie to yourself. You can lie to every other person but to yourself.

Zacchaeus was true to himself. He came to the realization that all the things he had acquired were not going to help him. He needed something much more. He was influential in the society. But he laid aside his reputation and what anyone will think about him and ran to be able to have an encounter with Jesus. Think about it. ! Not only that; the bible tells us that he was small in stature, so he climbed a tree, so he could see Jesus. Why? He desired something beyond material things. He knew that after all is said and done and the lights are out, if he had not made a right decision on eternity, he would only have succeeded in deceiving himself and not any other person.
