FAITH AND LOVE

Ephesians 1:15-16 (GNB), Colossians 1:3-4 (TPT)

…ever since I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I remember you in my prayers *Every time we pray for you our hearts overflow with thanksgiving to Father God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your devoted lives of faith in Christ Jesus and your tender love toward all his holy believers.

In our lives as children of God, faith and love always go together. Whenever Paul heard testimonies about believers in the early church, he did not only hear about their faith, he also heard about their love for one another. Our faith in God’s love does not only build and strengthen our faith, it also builds and strengthens our love for one another.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:8, Apostle Paul spoke about putting on the breastplate of faith and love. In Ephesians 6:14, he described this breastplate as that of righteousness. This means that faith and love are two major dimensions or expressions of the righteousness we have received in Christ. The Bible also tells us that faith works by love or faith is expressed through love. Galatians 5:6 (AMPC) says, “For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.”

Faith and love are not based on our feelings or our senses, but on the revelation of Christ. The spirit of faith is believing with your heart and confessing with your lips, (2Cor.4:13.) In the same way, we believe God’s love is in us and we declare that we love others, no matter how we feel.

Faith Declaration:
The revelation of Christ is causing my faith in God to grow stronger and it is making me love others more.
