FAITH, LOVE AND PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT (1)

EPHESIANS 6:18 (CEV), 1CORINTHIANS 14:2 & 14 (TPT)

Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people. *When someone speaks in tongues, no one understands…, because he’s not speaking to people, but to God—he is speaking intimate mysteries in the Spirit.…if I am praying in a tongue, my spirit is engaged in prayer but I have no clear understanding of what is being said.

One reason many believers do not pray a lot in the Spirit is because as they pray in the Spirit, their minds don’t understand what they’re saying and they’re not so sure of the things going on while they’re praying in the Spirit. Generally, as humans, we don’t like engaging in things that are not clear to us or things we don’t understand. The ability to pray in tongues is a gift of utterance you received from the Holy Spirit, (Acts 2:4). It takes faith to start praying in tongues and it takes faith to keep at it. Everything we do is by faith (the revelation of Christ) and not by sight (our physical senses) – [2 Cor.5:7].

The faith to keep praying in tongues comes from knowing all the wonderful blessings of praying in tongues and all the wonderful things that happen when you pray in tongues. Do you know that when you’re praying in tongues your Spirit is praying and you are praying in line and in the power of the Spirit of God? Do you know that when you’re praying in tongues you may not understand what you are saying but you are speaking deep mysteries? You’re declaring and activating deep and glorious things from the mind of God. Things eyes have not seen, ears have not heard and minds have not imagined, (1 Cor.2:9-13). As you pray in tongues, your faith is also being built up and you’re strengthened with might by the Spirit of God, (Jude 20, Eph.3:16).

ACTION POINT:
Pray in the Spirit right now and declare and pray about the things the Spirit of God lays in your heart.
