Memorise: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Bible Reading: James 1:5-8

  1. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
  2. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
  3. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
  4. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Bible Reading In One Year: Jeremiah 3-4, Titus 2:1-15

MESSAGE:

ln Matthew 9:1-8, a paralytic man I was brought to Jesus through the roof of the venue where Jesus was speaking to people. Jesus saw the faith of the friends of this paralytic and healed Him. Sarah, while expecting the fulfilment of the promise of God for their lives, lost hope and sought for another option. In Genesis 18:1-33, when Abraham entertained angels, and the angel once again said he would have a child soon, Sarah laughed but Abraham never lost his unwavering faith in God.

There are some problems that may not be solved until God sees faith. Sometimes, it might not even be the faith of the person involved, it might be the faith of the fellow standing in the gap, as it was in the case of the paralytic man. God wants to heal, save and deliver your friends and relatives who are in need of any of these, but you have to have faith. Hebrews 11:6 says it is impossible to please God without faith. Hence, faith is the vehicle through which heavenly blessings are delivered to people on earth. Whatever issue it is you are battling with personally or in your family, never lose faith. Take God at His word and let Him see your faith.

Action Point:

Keep looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith.

Hymn: The Comforter Has Come

  1. O spread the tidings round,
    Wherever man is found,
    Wherever human hearts
    and human woes abound.
    Let every Christian tongue
    proclaim the joyful sound:
    The Comforter has come!

Chorus:
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n,
the Father’s promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round,
wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!

  1. The long, long night is past;
    the morning breaks at last;
    And hushed the dreadful wail
    and fury of the blast,
    As o’er the golden hills
    the day advances fast!
    The Comforter has come!
  2. Lo, the great King of kings,
    with healing in His wings,
    To every captive soul
    a full deliv’rance brings;
    And thro’ the vacant cells
    the song of triumph rings;
    The Comforter has come!
  3. O boundless love divine!
    How shall this tongue of mine
    To wond’ring mortals tell
    the matchless grace divine –
    That I, a child of hell,
    should in His image shine?
    The Comforter has come!
