“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 KJV
Until you recognize the enemy you are fighting with, you cannot effectively engage him. If you cannot recognize the enemy’s modus operandi, you won’t know what you’re fighting. And that already spells defeat for you ever before the battle starts; but understanding will make you win the battle even before the battle starts.

The real warfare we are engaged with is not a battle of guns and bullets. It is not a battle of bows and arrows. It is the fight of faith. And the bible calls it “the good fight of faith”. That sounds like a paradox! How can any fight for that matter be good! Fight is not good!
So why is this fight a good fight. The outcome of this fight is already determined and settled! It is already determined that you are winning. It is a settled issue. You are already a winner based on what Christ did for us. Christ secured our winning position ever before we came on the scene. It is a good fight! And it is already determined!
The book of James 4:6-7 gives us insight on how to be positioned in this warfare. “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (KJV)
You can’t be a person and hope to win in spiritual warfare. Who is the proud? The proud is the person who wants to win in his own ability. The proud is the person who refuses what God has made available to him and wants to fight in order to win his own victory. And the bad news is that if you depend on yourself rather than on what Christ has done for you, you will always lose. Man has limitations! Man will not and cannot get it all together. But when you leverage on what Christ has done for you already, then you are guaranteed to win. Never forget, Christ has secured the victory for us. He is our man, who stepped into the valley of life, on our behalf, and defeated the devil once and for all. So ours is to go and begin to spoil our enemy. Spoil him and take the goods that belong to you.
