FOCUS ON CHRIST TO INCREASE IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Jn. 1:18 (GNB), Jn. 14:9b (GNB, TPT), Jn. 10:30, Col. 2:10, Jn. 14:6

No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father’s side, he has made him known. *….Whoever has seen me has seen the Father…. …for anyone who has looked at me has seen the Father… I and my Father are one. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. *“…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

In our first text above, Jesus made a bold and categorical statement. He said no one has ever seen God. Since no one has seen God, then you cannot know God by looking at anyone else. Jesus has not just seen God, He is One with God and He has revealed who God is. Jesus is One with the Father and there is no difference between them. Talking about Jesus, in John 1:1 & 14, we see that God and His Word are One and it was the Word that became flesh to dwell among us and show us the glory of God, which is full of grace and truth. Whenever you are seeing the glory of Jesus, you are seeing the glory of God the Father. Be not deceived. No one else can show you who the true God is, (1John 5:20-21).

Jesus is not like Moses and Elijah or any other person in the Bible. That is why God told Peter to fix all His attention on Jesus, (Matt.17:5). The Bible describes Jesus as the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of God’s person, (Heb.1:3). Nobody perfectly expressed God’s nature and character on earth like Jesus did. Everything Jesus did in the scriptures was to show us who God is.

As the Holy Spirit helps you understand Jesus’ nature more, you are understanding God’s nature more. Whatever character Jesus did not display, is not God’s character too. Increase your focus on Christ.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I ask that by your Spirit, you open my eyes more and more to see and know Jesus that I may see and know you more.
