Focus on How Jesus Spoke

John 7:32, 44-46 (GNB), Matthew 7:28-29 (TPT)
The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering … about Jesus, so they and the chief priests sent some guards to arrest him. *Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him. When the guards went back, the chief priests and Pharisees asked them, “Why did you not bring him?” The guards answered, “Nobody has ever talked like this man!” *By the time Jesus finished speaking, the crowds were awestruck by his teaching, because his words carried such great authority, quite unlike the religious scholars.

One of the things that we studied yesterday was that God wants us to talk just like Jesus. Today, as we focus on Jesus and behold how He spoke, there will be an impartation and transformation that will take place in our lives by the Spirit and we shall find ourselves speaking more like Jesus.

In John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” When a great storm arose at sea as He slept in the boat, His disciples awakened Him. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4:39-40). On another occasion, Jesus said to the fig tree, “No one shall ever eat figs from you again!” And his disciples heard him. Early next morning, as they walked along the road, they saw the fig tree. It was dead all the way down to its roots (Mark 11:14 & 20, GNB).

“Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?”
Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above (John 19:10-11a, NIV). Jesus said, “No one can kill me without my consent—I lay down my life voluntarily. For I have the right and power to lay it down when I want to and also the right and power to take it again. For the Father has given me this right” (John 10:18, LB). Before Lazarus’ grave, Jesus looked up and said, “I thank you, Father, that you listen to me. I know that you always listen to me, but I say this for the sake of the people here, so that they will believe that you sent me” (John 11:41-42, GNB). Jesus boldly, and will authority, spoke the will of God into being. You can too.

Faith Declaration:
I have the life of Christ and I have the ability to speak just like Christ. I speak with boldness and authority just like Christ.
