FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Esther 4:14 (NKJV), John 17:1 (NKJV)

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”*Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You

Esther found herself in a very difficult situation. She needed to do something she had never done before, which was to go before the king without being invited, and this could mean the loss of her life. On the other hand, if she did not go before the king, it might mean the death of all the Jews in the land of Shushan. It might have been the most difficult challenge she had faced since she became queen, and she might not have known the implication of what she needed to do. Her going before the king was an
opportunity for her to be used by God to preserve the life of the Jews because Jesus was going to come through their linage.

Esther prayed and asked for God’s help to do what she had to do and God granted her favour. Going to the Cross was Jesus’ greatest challenge but He knew that He was on the earth for such a time as that. This is why He prayed and received God’s strength to do God’s will which led to saving many lives and advancing God’s kingdom on the earth. God will also strengthen you as you pray right now.

Beloved, God has placed you in that position that you are in so that through that challenge, He can use you to do His will that will preserve lives and advance His will and purpose on the earth. You are not just there to enjoy yourself and have fun. You are there for such a time as this.

Prayer Focus:
Commit yourself to God right now and receive His strength and wisdom to face that challenge and do His will.
