MEMORISE: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
Read: Psalms 37:24-25
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 32-33, 1 Peter 1
MESSAGE:
The word of a lord is a decree; everyone must obey it. That is why judges in law courts ate called lords, because whatever instruction or sentence thy pass must be carried out to the letter. The good news today is that the Lord of all lords is your Daddy. He only gives instructions that favour you. You need to live and walk in this understanding. Sometimes, it may seem as if God had neglected you and cannot see what you are passing through, but this is not true. A child may not understand why the parent is allowing him go through the pains of taking an injection, but the parent is only doing it for the good of the child.
David was a man after God’s heart, he was anointed to be king as a teenager. It looked like everything was going to be smooth for him, but he soon found himself in the wilderness, ruling over vagabonds. It might have looked like God had forsaken him, but He was preparing him for a glorious destiny. Thank God he remained faithful to God even in his trying period. No matter what you are going through, stay faithful and you will see the glory that God will bring out of that situation.
KEY POINT:
Your attitude during your trying times will determine if you will be glorified or abased when the challenge is over.
Hymn 10:
1 What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a Friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield You;
You wilt find a solace there.
