Freedom Is Not Free

“The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans for His heart from generation to generation. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” – Psalm 33:11-12

As a nation, our greatest blessing is freedom, especially our freedom to worship God. For generations Americans have paid a high price for its freedom, including the shedding of blood and the ultimate sacrifice of life. God’s grace, like our freedom, comes at the highest cost – the shedding of blood and the sacrifice of life – the life of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Because of Christ’s death on the cross, those who receive Him are set free from sin and death, and have everlasting life.

If we truly want the blessings of God on our lives and on our country, we must keep our hearts centered on God and the truth of His Word, and keep America a nation whose God is the Lord. Then, and only then, will God bless America, and use us to make a difference in our nation and His Kingdom.
