Topic: FUNCTIONING ON THE PLATFORM OF GRACE – Bishop Mike Okonkwo Devotional 27 April 2023 The Redeemed Evangelical Mission
“And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.” Genesis 4:4-5 (KJV)
Grace is the platform that God has predetermined before we were born, for us to function in. The platform of grace is a platform of preferential treatment. It is a platform where God acquits and sets free and there is no appeal. In our text, Cain brought the works of his hands to offer to God, but Abel brought the animal sacrifice, saying it is not by my works; it is by your sacrifice. Cain came with the works of his hands and effort. And God rejected Cain and his offering because it is not by the works of your hands but by grace.
I have seen grace at work. Grace will open doors for you! Grace will fight your battles! Grace will silence the voice of the enemy! Grace will make them change the rule for you! Grace will make a difference in your life. No matter how low you may be, God will rearrange things for your sake. It doesn’t have to be the normal way. Just believe!
Everyone in Jericho had written off Rahab. No one wanted to touch her with a 10-foot pole. But God saw something beyond what people saw. That was grace at work! God saw Rahab as an instrument in His hands. Human beings see outward appearance, but God looks at your heart. At the end of the day, when you read Matthew Chapter 1:5, you will find the name of Rahab in the lineage of Christ. That may sound ridiculous to you! How can a holy God have a prostitute in His lineage? That is the power of grace on display. This is to show you that God can take a mess and make a message out of it.
The grace of God will showcase you. Grace will make a way for you where there is no way. Grace will speak for you.
