“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7

An evidence of our salvation is our commitment to giving ceaselessly. The Church is a Body of cheerful givers. We should always be on the lookout to give and to sort out the needs of the Body. There is always something to sow into and you do not have to wait for it to be made public before you give. Romans 12:8 tells us that “he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity.” Not for people to see you. Do it because God wants you to do it. It is a commandment. You are not doing it because of anybody. You are doing it because that is your ministry. Also, beloved, love what God has called you to do. If you don’t please God, but you want to please man, you would lose your reward.

I Peter 4:10 tells us that whatever you have received, release it to one another. Don’t hold it back. Whatsoever you do, do it that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom the praise and dominion belong forever. As human instruments, we should be totally yielded to our Maker. If an instrument is not fully yielded to God, that instrument might make a mistake and would work against the plan of God. Water might be clean but if the water passes through a vessel that has some problems, the water might have taste. It might have some dirt in it. We are only instruments.

Since we know that it is not the individual being used that will be glorified, but God, and it is for every one of us to be strengthened, we should always be on the lookout for opportunities to give and to affect lives. That is what our salvation is all about. In John 3:16 God showed us a good example of giving when He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus.
