GIVE LIFE

1Corinthians 15:45 (LB, AMPC), John 10:10, John 20:21 The Scriptures tell us that the first man, Adam, was given a natural, human body but Christ is more* than that, for he was life-giving Spirit. Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. *The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. *… *as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesus has given us His life so that we will live His life, (Gal.2:20). Or better still, so that He will live His life through us. This means that we are no longer the ones living but Christ who died for us. As such, we now live unto Him and His love is what controls our lives, (2Cor.5:14-15). His purpose is our purpose and His passion is our passion. Jesus came to give life to men and not to destroy the lives of men. This should always be our passion and attitude also. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, (John 14:6). As one with Him, His ambassadors and carriers of His Life and nature, we cannot push people out of the way, deceive them with falsehood and destroy or kill them for any reason or in any way. We must always show people the way, give them the truth and give them life. Just as God the Father sent Jesus to give men life, He has sent you and me also to do the same.

The basic way to give life to people is by showing the love of God to them, (John 3:16). There are so many ways to show the love of God to people. We can preach the gospel to them, manifest the power of God in their lives, we can serve them or meet their needs in one way or the other, we can give them hope, we can guide them aright, we can pray for them and we can forgive and have mercy on them. Just like Jesus, to give life to others, you must be ready to sacrifice or lay down your life for others, (1John 3:16). It could be your ego, your emotions, your time or your resources. Do not take life away from people. “Those who hate others are murderers.” (1John 3:15, GNB). Give them life. Do not allow evil overcome you. Rather, overcome evil with good, (Rom.12:21).

Prayer Focus:
Thank God that He has empowered you and sent you to give life to others. Ask Him to use you to give life to someone today. Pray for others also.
