MEMORISE: And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; 1 Samuel 17:32a

READ: Exodus 14:13-14

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

MESSAGE:

Succour is giving relief, support and help to someone who is troubled about a situation. David was a teenager who had never been to war before, yet He gave succour to King Saul who is more experienced in war. You can be like David too, you can give succour to your parents and other elders around you when they are bothered by a situation. When you notice that your parents are bothered about something, don’t just act indifferently like you are not aware. Don’t assume that as a teenager, you have no part to play in the issue, rather, you should find a way to give succour. When some one is troubled, God could be trying to speak to him, but he will not hear. You can stand in the gap for them by asking God for a solution and sharing whatever comes to mind with the elders involved. However, if you don’t have any solution, just a word of encouragement or a bible Passage that addresses the issue can bring some relief to the person involved. David had not yet faced Goliath, but he told Saul “let not your heart be troubled”.

For you to effectively bring succour to your parents in times of trouble, you must be close to God. You must have the Holy Spirit within you to inspire you on what to say or do at such times.

Key Point:

In times of trouble be that teenager that God can use to bring succour even to adults.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 6-7; Luke 8:1-23

Hymn 11:

1 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3 Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4 We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
