Glorious Benefits of Being Diligent

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently speak him.

Proverbs 22:29 (AMP) Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings! He will not stand before obscure men.

John 17:4 (NIV) I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.

2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

There are so many glorious benefits of being diligent and constantly reminding ourselves of them as a way of inspiring us to remain so. Abel gave God his best and God blessed him for it, Gen. 4:4 (GNB). As we seek God diligently, He gives us more of Himself.

Diligence attracts promotion and increase in influence. Our second text above reveals that diligence and skillfulness will cause you to stand before kings. David’s diligence made people recognize his abilities and recommend him to king Saul, 1 Samuel 16:17-18. Joseph’s diligence made Potiphar appoint him as head of his household, Gen. 39:1-4. Daniel was so diligent and excellent that the king of Babylon preferred him to every other government official and wanted to put him in charge of the entire kingdom of Babylon, Daniel 6:3.

Diligence will help you finish well and bring glory to God just as Jesus did in our third text above. Our last text above shows us that it is by diligence that we make our calling and election sure. God calls us by grace but we actualize our calling by being diligent in it. Diligence will cause you to maximize your potential. It brings wealth and increase, Prov. 10:4, Prov. 21:5. Diligence helps you to remain focused and to keep doing what is right even when the condition is not right. Daniel’s enemies could not find anything to hold against him because of his diligence, Dan. 6:4. 1 Peter 2:15 says, “For God wants you to silence the ignorant talk of foolish people by the good things you do.”
