Text: Numbers 12:1-8 (KJV)
1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Key Verse: “My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house” – (Numbers 12:7).
MESSAGE:
One of the greatest virtues employers, couples, friends and business partners desire is faithfulness. Faithfulness, loyalty, reliability, allegiance, fidelity though rare in most human endeavours, rate high in God’s economy. To be counted faithful implies that one is reliable, dependable, honest and trustworthy. This feat can only be earned through drawing from the instructions of God’s word.

God attested to Moses’ faithfulness. As most men and women of high integrity and faithfulness are subjects of attack from others, even so was Moses. His siblings, Aaron and Miriam, derided him and his marriage and challenged his ministry and walk with God. In the face of the unprovoked challenge, Moses kept his peace and was rated as very meek, above all men. No human action escapes the sight of God. He not only attested to Moses’ faithfulness but sharply rebuked the erring Aaron and Miriam and defended His faithful servant.
We may draw criticisms and rude remarks from detractors in unexpected quarters. Nevertheless, we must not relent. Man’s reactions to our piety should not cause us to lapse into unfaithfulness, compromise, disloyalty or infidelity.
Faithfulness is demanded in our place of work, in private and public life, between husband and wife, in our service unto God and indeed in our day-to-day activities. Faithfulness is threatened by inward and external pressure, enticements, quest for ease of life, inability of people to appreciate us, and absence of immediate punishment of unfaithfulness. Whatever reason there may be, unfaithfulness only draws the anger and judgment of God while faithfulness delivers, even from death!
Thought For The Day: The Lord’s eyes never leave the faithful for protection.
