Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, Give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 29:1, 2 NKJV
How can we truly express our gratitude to God for all His goodness. I don’t know if you know how to exalt Him. I don’t know! I look for words, I look for songs and I look for dancing. But whatever I do is still not adequate. That is why the Psalmist declares: “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? (Psalm 116:12 NKJV) He asked the question, but he was not looking for an answer. He was so overwhelmed by the blessings of God upon his life. He said ‘what exactly can I render to appreciate this God? How can I adequately thank Him for the unmerited, unearned and undeserved goodness of God towards me?’ Then he said: “I will pay my vows to the Lord” (Psalm 116:14 NKJV)
I encourage you today to sit back to think. Thinkers are the ones who can truly give Him thanks. When people begin to argue concerning what to do for God; whether they should give their money or not, whether they should give their tithes or not, it is because they have not sat down to reflect on the goodness of God.
Recently, I was asked during an interview session what type of question I would want to ask the Father when I get to heaven? And I said ‘I would want to know why I deserved to be saved? I would want to know why He paid such a price to save me. What did He see in me that made Him decide to die to pay the ultimate price for my redemption?’ I don’t understand why He paid such a price for the redemption of man. At times, we are overwhelmed by the things we have not got and we forget about His goodness towards us in every area of our lives.
